Emelie Mahdavian is a filmmaker, dancer, musician, and Fulbright scholar whose work frequently deals with gender, media, and global politics. She is completing an experimental motion capture dance film called “Intangible Body”, a collaboration with an Iranian dancer and computer scientists that explores dance and censorship in Iran and is currently in preproduction for two features documentaries to be shot in Afghanistan in 2017.
