What inspired you to make this film?
I like making independent films, and I have been always looking for new and different ideas. ‘Tomorrow After Yesterday’ reflects all my experience in film production. Situations changing fate has always been an interesting subject to me. The film is all about this subject.
What do you want American audiences to know about this film or about the subject matter?
This film is made of a 12 minute plan, there is no cut and it’s showing how the characters are involved on different situations.
Is it difficult to make films in your home country? Why or why not?
Making films in Iran has some limitations, some of the subjects or parts can be censored by the government. Also the budget for independent film is hard to provide. Actually the requested films have more opportunity to be made and seen. I should say that it’s not easy to make independent films in US either. Specifically budget wise. While there is more freedom on selecting the subjects of course.
Is there anything else you want us to know about you as a director or about your film?
“Tomorrow After Yesterday” has received a lot of rewards in different festivals. I hope more people can see and enjoy the film by participating in the festival.
