My name is Marshall Hildreth and currently I am a junior majoring in Political science and minoring in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Siena College. Being no stranger to a challenge, my first year of higher education was completed at the University of Toronto; this is where my affinity for my major and minor first took root. My main ambition after college is to work directly in furthering, improving, and ensuring human rights, rectifying institutional oppressions, and creating a more humane and just world.
Why FCI?
“I first found out about Free Culture Invisible through its founder and president, Mahmood Karimi-Hakak, during one of his many classes held here at Siena College. When I was asked to become apart of FCI, I jumped at the opportunity. Via FCI’s collaboration, communication, and commitment to censored and suppressed authors, artists, and filmmakers, I am able to aid in the fostering of very needed and very relevant cultural dialogues. Additionally, I am able to see firsthand the benefits FCI provides to both local and international communities. Thus, by allowing me to be apart of something bigger than myself, FCI has given me the chance to pursue deliberate and meaningful cultural understanding and positive change.”
